Biography

Nana Veneti is a professional actress and entrepreneur.

She was born and raised in Athens.

She  initially studied linear drawing  and  later  fine art, aiming at the School of Fine Arts and attended classes at the School of Free & linear drawing in “Plaka” as well as private lessons with the curator of the School of Fine Arts Mr. Vrasidas Vlachopoulos ” 1981-1982

Her dream was to study in the School of Fine Arts in Florence but  her parents would not allow her to go  because they did not allow her  to reside out of Greece away from the family.Greek fathers  used to be very conservative .

In the same year when she graduated from high school she was hired after an audition and appeared for the first time as an actress in the play “PLUTUS” by Aristophanes with the LAIKO Theatre of Piraeus , where she played the role of Hermes as well as in children’s scenes with the performances “Robin Hood”, “Maya The Bee” and “Little Red Riding Hood” where she played the main roles .

She was hoping to secure  her financial independence  with the intention of leaving  Athens to study at the School of Fine Arts in Florence.

During this time , her plans  changed as she discovered that the field of acting and Theatre allowed her a degree of personal expression and was what exactly she would like to pursue as a profession.

Painting and free drawing continued to be part of her life  , with undiminished intensity as another mode of expression but  only as a hobby .

In 1993 she made her debut in the cinema with smaller roles in the films called “Dragon wanted” with Dimitris Piatas, “Gate  7 the great moment” by Nikos Foskolos, “The circuit of death” with Dionysis Xanthos, “I am acting as a macho man” with Sotiris Moustakas and Katerina Gioulaki

In 1984, while already working as a professional actress  at the “Chatzichristos Theatre”(the actors license had been abolished by then) She decided to take exams at the “TRAGA Drama school” where she studied near great teachers such as Thanos Kotsopoulos, Mitsos Efthymiadis, Nikos Papakonstantinou and many others.

She graduated from drama school in 1987 and was already a professional actress.

At the same time as studying at the the drama school, she attended modern dance , jazz & tap dancing lessons in various colleges and later at Kiki Maniatis’s dance school , as well as private lessons of elecution and speech education with Professor Nikos Papakonstantinou (who also her  teacher at the drama school) and vocal lessons in London  1984 & 1985 next to the great teacher William Pleeth (https://www.allmusic.com/artist/william-pleeth-mn0001793142/biography )

In 1984 she began her professional career from the ” Chatzichristou ” Theatre next to the famous Comedian  Costas Chatzichristos  & George Papazisis,Titika Stasinopoulou, Erica Broyer , Danos Lygizo, Nikos Tsoukas , Dimitra Nomikos, Sasha Kastoura, George Loukakis while at the same year 1984 she began studying in the first year of the Drama School.

Since then she began to visit London frequently ,attending performances and  to procure unique theatrical fabrics that she used for her wardrobe in the theatre.

In the same year , she played her first starring role in cinema in the film  “ROCKSTAR IN  THE DAY  AND SERVANT AT NIGHT ” , comedy next to famous actors Dinos Iliopoulos, Giannis Gionakis, Sotiris Tzevelekos, Ilias Logothetis, Costas Tsakonas, Giannis Vogiatzis Christos Callow etc.

In 1987 she created a boutique with the distinctive title “MISS VENETI” which  imported women’s clothes in Kolonaki  area in the center of Athens and specifically at 36 Voukourestiou St, where she imported selected and unique clothes from Milan, London & Paris until 1995 when she sold the business.

For two seasons and specifically 91 ‘ -92 ‘ she appeared at the Music Hall “Fantasia” in L. Poseidonos (opposite Elliniko Airport) with a music Show.

Cooperating  with  singers  Makis Christodoulopoulos, Litsa Diamanti, Nikos Nomikos, Michalis Menidiatis  &  Season 92 ‘ -93 ‘  cooperating with Stamatis Gonidis, Pitsa Papadopoulou, Nikos Nomikos, Michalis Menidiatis , Sabrina, Efi Sarris etc.

Here she presented a live music  and dance spectacular show by famous Hollywood musicals accompanied with  28  ballet dancers  and a 26 member orchestra where she appeared in roles as Merilyn Monroe and Julie Andrews.

In 1994 she decided to stop her professional career in the artistic field to give priority to her personal life and to be active in the field of business while she played last time in the theater “LAMPETI” Theatre  in the performance “Mind your step” Boulevar  with: Grigoris Valtinos, Giannis Vouros, Christina Theodoropoulou &  Nefeli Orfanou

Since then, she has decided to be  active in business.

In 1998 she aquired the exclusive representation for Greece of the Italian engineering company TCMs.r.l. trading with the  private and  public sector through tenders for commercial vehicle acquisition.

In 2001, Nana Veneti as  TCM s.r.l.  agent,  in cooperation with the company “KONDELIS” IVECO representative in Greece  , supplied 36 new crane vehicles to the Greek police  through a public tender  to deal with   illegally parked vehicle  in the center of Athens. She later cooperated with the organizations I.L.P.A.P.  , O.A.S.A & the Fire Brigade.

In the private sector she supplied ELPA, INTERAMERICAN and other private vehicle transport companies with TCM manufactured vehicles.

In 2002 she acquired  the representation of the Italian company Pagliero S.r.l  a manufacture of hydraulic lifting platform  vehicles which she supplied to D.E.H   ( Greek Energy Company)   & O.A.S.A after winning  a public tender.

At this  time Nana  began a cooperation with the Italian company AIRO Tigieffe making self-propelled platforms with one of its main customers being the company “Aluminum of Greece” etc.

In 2003 she met  the English businessman Nigel Dean on the yacht of a lifelong shipowner friend of hers and in 2004 they married and live between Athens and London.

In 2007 she gave birh to her beloved son Charles-Evangelos Dean.

Since 2010 she has been active in the field of real estate (construction and management) through a company she created with her husband where she is still busily engaged today.

She loves to travel and has traveled to many countries with the most favorite being England and Kenya.

Personal life
She married in 2004 to English businessman Nigel Dean and in 2007 had her son Charles-Evangelos Dean.
